FAQs

What type and size of clothing can I send?

The most common items of clothing we use are babygrows, tops, vests, dresses, rompers and jumpers. Cotton based clothing is the best material to work with, however we can use other materials too. The only items we do not recommend sending are knitted items, hard denim or zips.

We can use almost any size of clothing, ’tiny baby (7lbs)’ being the smallest. If you would like to include premature sizes, these would only be able to be sewn on top of blankets as whole outfits (see our additional extras for more information)

How many items of clothing should I send?

We require 20 items of clothing for the cot size blanket however we can use a minimum of 15 (size 0-6+ months clothing). You can send up to 30 items of clothing if you would like each patch to be different however there is an additional £5 charge for more than 20 items due to the extra work involved.

How long do I have to send my items?

There is not a time limit to send your items in to us, once you have collected your most memorable pieces of clothing just send them in along with a message to let us know they are on their way.

Are there any items or material that cannot be used?

We cannot use knitted items, hard denim or zips. If we receive any of these types, they will be returned with the finished product.

What is the blanket backed with?

The blanket has two layers of fleece, one plain and one dimple print. This makes the blanket very versatile, not too thick and not too thin. They are perfect to snuggle into!

What is an additional extra?

An additional extra is an item that is either too small to be included as patchwork, or an item you would like to be sewn on top of the patchwork.

Items include hats, socks, bibs, mitts, comforters, whole outfits, pants, personalised patch, individual letters, hoods from baby grows, sock ons, rattle socks and baby grow feet. Please look at our ‘additional extras’ below to see the individual prices.

What happens to the spare material of the items I send?

The most important parts of the clothing you send is used on your blanket, this includes logos, text, collars (if they are not too hard), patterns etc.

The left-over bits of material will not be kept unless you have requested to have it returned back to you. Please let us know when we receive your items if you would like any material returned with your product.

If there are any items that have not been cut due to it not being the correct material etc, these will be sent back with the finished product.

What should I include inside my parcel?

It is extremely important to include your name and email address inside your parcel, without this information we will not be able to identify who’s items we have received.

Please include a note of any particular ‘favourites’ you would definitely like included within your blanket or if you have any specific requests about any of the outfits & also if there are any additional extras you would like to include i.e. embroidered patch, hat etc.

If requests are not made, we will use our own discretionary to create your product.

How do I wash my keepsake?

We advise to hand wash all keepsake items however for keepsake blankets only, these can be washed on a cool setting in the washing machine.

Please do not tumble dry!

What is the turn around to have a keepsake made?

We aim to have your keep sakes made within 10-12 weeks of receiving your items & posted out to you within days of completion.

If you need your keepsake any earlier please get in contact before ordering as we will try to accommodate any special requests.
